Stable pH is essential in papermaking to prevent a variety of problems, including the dissolution of calcium carbonate (CaCO3).
We developed our patented ADALKA® process stabilizer solution to stabilize pH in the papermaking process. Carbon dioxide (CO2) and caustic soda (NaOH) react with each other, forming a buffering solution, which is added to the papermaking process to stabilize pH, increase alkalinity and reduce dissolved calcium levels.
The buffering solution is typically produced on site in our ADALKA alkalinity control unit (ACU). A growing number of mills worldwide are relying on ADALKA process stabilizer for process improvements.
