Higher Cooling Capacity on a Smaller Footprint

Food processing companies specialized in meat products, complex proteins, prepared foods and plant materials face a number of challenges as they strive to meet consumer demand for superior food quality. During mixing and grinding, the heat generated can accelerate bacterial growth and lead to off-flavors, shorter shelf life and spoilage. To conserve full flavor and the desired texture, food products must be chilled quickly, evenly and efficiently, especially during mixing and the early stages of processing.

In many cases, manufacturers are also under pressure to increase operational efficiency and lower labor costs. Transitioning from a batch to a continuous process flow is often an effective way to meet these challenges.

We developed the ACCU-CHILL® CBC or continuous blender chilling system to meet these needs. It supports continuous production systems by continuously injecting the necessary amount of cryogen for even, rapid and consistent chilling. This keeps your processing flow moving smoothly.

ACCU-CHILL CBC is suited to products with viscous, granular, fluffy or sensitive textures, making it ideal for shredded or deboned meat, bacon and jerky pieces, cooked grain, plant and botanical materials, dairy products, granola, pet food proteins, and whole or ground spices. Particularly during mixing and in the early stages of production, ACCU-CHILL CBC can make a valuable contribution to food safety and product quality.

How Does ACCU-CHILL CBC Work?

ACCU-CHILL CBC works by continuously injecting a cryogen - liquid carbon dioxide (CO2) or liquid nitrogen (N2) - into the mix. Continuous, gentle movement of the product combined with the cryogenic feed results in effective cooling power on a very compact footprint. Depending on individual needs and the product in question, ACCU-CHILL CBC can be configured with a mixing paddle, auger screw, pin blend or ribbon blend system. Our broad selection of nozzles, process control solutions and injection systems enables us to tailor the ACCU-CHILL CBC configuration to your product.

How Does ACCU-CHILL CBC Benefit my Operations?

ACCU-CHILL CBC is an innovative system designed to bring you a faster chill, more value and higher efficiency than other chilling options. Read on for some of the design highlights:
