- Deep weld penetration
- Unprecedented quality
- Excellent surface finish
- Reduced post-processing
- Less re-work

ARCLINE PP uses plus pole (PP) welding to combine the speed gains of metal inert gas (MIG) welding with the quality benefits of tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding for greater productivity in aluminum welding. It reduces your need for weld preparation and post-work, lowers your rejection rate, and lets you weld at speeds of up to 200 cm/min. At the same time, it decreases your risk of porosity and tungsten or oxide inclusions. And it is suited to the full range of welding tasks - from tubes, pipes and vessels to plates and extruded profiles.

Aluminum and its alloys are growing in importance across a wide range of industries and applications. Even so, it remains a difficult material to work with, particularly when using conventional gas-free techniques such as friction stir welding (FSW).
The MIG welding process is quick and easily mastered - and can even be automated - but can result in strength and weld integrity issues that often require re-work. Meanwhile, TIG welding is a reliable way to create high-quality workpieces, but it requires more time, skill and experience on the part of the welder.
We developed ARCLINE PP to sidestep the issues that you typically face as an aluminum welder, finally resolving the dilemma of speed versus quality. In short, ARCLINE PP sets a new benchmark for across-the-board productivity.
ARCLINE PP gets you fit for the future with support for mechanized and robotic welding. The groundbreaking performance of the ARCLINE PP aluminum welding system relies on three unique characteristics:
The result: Outstanding performance with much lower weld preparation and post-processing effort, fewer rejects, extraordinary speed gains, and a significant reduction in fume emissions when compared with MIG aluminum welding.
ARCLINE PP is more than just a revolutionary welding torch. It's a convenient, end-to-end solution that consists of an entire range of components that help you optimize your aluminum welding process. For your flexibility, it can be adapted to mechanized or robotic welding systems. The unparalleled speed and accuracy of ARCLINE PP are enabled by its advanced dual gas stream, so selecting the right gases is essential. Our experts will guide you through our range of recommended focus and shielding gases so you can pick the best fit for your application.
The focus gas concentrates the arc to increase its power density and improve its stability. Our focus gases combine the inert gas argon with an active component to ensure excellent penetration and seam appearance on every weld.
Recommended focus gases:
VARIGON® S (ISO 14175 - Z - ArO - 0.03)
MISON® Ar (ISO 14175 - Z - ArNO - 0.03)
As shielding gas, argon forms the outer shroud that protects the weld from the risk of oxidation and unwanted soot deposits. At the same time, it enables smooth bead formation and deep weld penetration.
