Carbon dioxide (CO2) snow, also known as dry ice, is a very effective and easy to use cooling medium. It is best used with snow horns or specially designed nozzles to cool products in mixers, blenders, containers, cartons, combos, or at cutting-up and packaging locations.
Liquid carbon dioxide converts to solid carbon dioxide snow at –79ºC (–109ºF), when it is allowed to expand to atmospheric pressure. When in close contact with a food product, carbon dioxide snow has a deep seated cooling effect.
Carefully optimised and designed expansion nozzles guarantee efficient snow generation and rapid cooling. A variety of snow horn designs are available, from manual and portable, to permanent integrated units. All units incorporate the latest efficiency concepts while meeting the highest industry hygiene standards.
