| In the EU-sponsored pilot project CUTE (Clean Urban Transport for Europe) 10 European cities are involved.
One of the most important milestones in hydrogen history was the first opening in the world of a hydrogen filling station in May, 1999 at Munich Airport.
In this project Linde co-operated with BMW, Daimler Chrysler, BP, Opel, Shell and Aral.
In October of 2002 a similar filling station was opened in Berlin. At the moment, a second filling station is built there. Also for this one the complete technical equipment as well as the hydrogen is provided by Linde.
World-wide there are about 21 hydrogen filling stations – 19 manufactured by Linde.
The operations for a world-wide hydrogen-infrastructure proceed quickly: In Europe there are already hydrogen filling stations in Amsterdam, Barcelona, and Porto. |
