Preheating makes your material a hard nut to crack
However, the trend for high-strength materials is also driving the demand for preheating prior to welding. This heat treatment step reverses any hydrogen embrittlement effects that can lead to cracking, maintaining the tensile strength and integrity of the steel. The use of LINDOFLAMM® acetylene / compressed air burners allows the material to be pre-heated either mechanized or manually. The additional heat facilitates metal cutting and welding.
